Multi-language user interface in Meeting Services

You asked, we delivered! Customers using our Metro and Device Management and Automation (DMA) products can already change the user interface language. We’ve now extended this to Meeting Services.

Your conferencing administrators and operators can use the software in:

  • Arabic
  • English (UK & US)
  • French
  • German
  • Polish
  • Romanian
  • Spanish

Need an additional language? We’re adding more with each release. Email info@vqcomms.com to let us know what you need!

User interface enhancements: Modernized yet familiar look and feel

Meeting Services is where our customers manage their most important conferences, so changes to its user interface must be purposeful and carefully considered. Having rigorously stress-tested our new VQ Design System on our DMA and Metro products, we’re now rolling it out to Meeting Services.

Operators and administrators will be able to continue where they left off in 4.8, with a modernized, yet very familiar experience. I’ve written a separate article about this improvement work and how it fits into our longer-term user experience roadmap.

Accessibility uplift: Progressing towards full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance

For many organizations, providing their teams with accessible software will soon be a legal or regulatory requirement. We’re working hard to provide a product that’s fully compliant with the WCAG 2.2 AA standard, as well as US Section 508, and the European Accessibility Act.

The refreshed user interface in Meeting Services moves the product significantly closer to this accessibility goal.

Occupancy and environmental sensor analytics: For a deeper understanding of workplace utilization and wellbeing

If you’re using Cisco in-room video devices, you’ve got a ready-made deployment of occupancy and environmental sensors across your buildings. However, if these endpoints are in a cloud-prohibited environment, you’ve historically had no enterprise-class way of benefiting from the data they collect.

VQ Conference Manager now includes occupancy and environmental insights. As part of this, you get advanced visualizations showing the relationship between occupancy levels and environmental factors, so that you can spot any correlations. For your facilities or workplace management teams, this unlocks powerful new ways to optimize your offices in support of in-person and hybrid collaboration.

To learn more about the opportunities this opens up, head over to our separate article on workplace sensors in VQ Conference Manager.

Security and performance improvements

VQ Conference Manager is already trusted by some of the world’s most security-conscious organizations, including governments, defense agencies, and the intelligence community. Our latest release makes a range of under-the-hood enhancements that maintain our commitment to the highest-possible security posture and the use of best-of-breed components and approaches.

We’ve also made various performance improvements, as part of our drive to deliver ever-better user experiences and keep well ahead of the ever-larger systems we’re supporting.

We’ve got lots more exciting capabilities on our roadmap for later in the year (and beyond), as we bring ever-more cloud-style features to customers in air-gapped and self-hosted environments.

7 Game-Changing Use Cases for Self-Hosted Video Conferencing

7 Game-Changing Use Cases for Self-Hosted Video Conferencing Some things we know and never question. Birds fly. Fish swim. Dogs bark. You get the idea. Somewhere along the way, the world came to believe that when it comes to video conferencing, organizations have only two options – cloud or self-hosted (on-premises). This “one way or the other” concept may have been true 15 years ago when self-hosted video conferencing platforms were expensive…

Still using Cisco TMS? Here’s what you need to do now

Still using Cisco TMS? Here’s what you need to do now If you’re using Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS), listen up. You probably know the product is end-of-life. Your final chance to renew is the end of January 2026, and the last day of support is 31st January 2027. That’s in just over 12 months’ time – a blink of an eye in enterprise technology terms. If you’re able to use the…

The smarter way for the public sector to run incident response meetings

The smarter way for the public sector to run incident response meetings  As a public sector organization, you need to be ready to respond to critical incidents at a moment’s notice. Threats to national security, natural disasters, public health crises, or critical infrastructure failures all demand quick and decisive reactions.   These begin by getting the right people together to execute your response playbook. This will typically take place in a videoconference, because there often won’t be time…
